How I Work — Methodology
Every project follows the same four-phase loop — expanding outward to explore, then narrowing to act.
01
Discover
I start by listening — to users, stakeholders, and data — before forming any opinions about the solution.
User interviews Stakeholder sessions Competitive audit Analytics review
02
Define
I synthesize findings into a clear problem statement — so the team agrees on what we're solving before how.
Synthesis + themes Personas + JTBD Problem statement Success metrics
03
Design
I explore many directions quickly, test with real users, and iterate until the evidence supports a direction.
Lo-fi sketches Prototyping Usability testing Hi-fi iteration
04
Deliver
I hand off with full specs, stay close through build, and measure outcomes to inform the next cycle.

About

I work best at the intersection of research, systems, and storytelling.

Hi, I'm Mayank — a UX Designer with 6+ years of experience, rooted in front-end development and sharpened by a genuine curiosity for how people interact with complex systems. I specialize in translating user research — both qualitative and quantitative — into design decisions that scale across products and teams.

My development background means I design with implementation in mind, and my growing fluency with AI tools means I'm increasingly able to prototype, test, and iterate faster than a traditional design workflow allows. I bring that same rigor to accessibility — believing that good design works for everyone, not just the median user.

I'm currently seeking full-time product design roles where I can contribute across the full design lifecycle, from discovery through delivery.

Outside work

After work, you can find me in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes or on the couch playing open world video games. There is no in between!

Ongoing
Accessibility Advocate
Strong believer that everyone deserves the same digital experience. Accessibility informs every project, from research framing to component decisions.
01.
Research before pixels.
The best design decisions come from understanding people first. I spend as much time on research as I do on design — often more.
02.
Accessibility is not a checkbox.
Inclusive design improves the experience for everyone. I advocate for it at every stage — from IA through to handoff and QA.
03.
Ship the smallest useful thing.
The first version is a vote on the next three. Getting real feedback from real users beats perfecting the prototype.

What the workarounds tell you.
On how the unofficial tools users build to work around your product are the most honest design research you can do — and why you should look for them before you start sketching.

Accessibility as design constraint, not design tax.
The counterintuitive case that accessibility requirements sharpen your design thinking rather than limiting it — and how inclusive design has improved three of my projects.

Eye tracking taught me to look at data differently.
A short reflection on what surprised me in the MET study — and how heat maps changed the way I think about where users actually look versus where we assume they look.

Experience

2026 — now
UX Designer II
Magnite · Mountain View, CA
  • Led AI tool adoption for the UX team — evaluated Lovable, Builder.io, Figma Make, and Claude Code; standardized on Figma Make and Claude Code with Figma MCP, securing expedited security approval within one week.
  • Built custom Claude skills to eliminate repetitive design tasks, including a bulk Figma edit skill and a PRD-to-ideation skill that generates design concepts directly in Figma using the in-house component library.
  • Deployed a Claude skill enabling ~60 PMs across DV+ and Streaming to make UI updates independently using the design library, eliminating a chronic backlog of deprioritized design tickets.
  • Created an automated pipeline converting raw bug report emails into structured Jira tickets routed to the correct engineering team, saving 2–3 hours of manual triage per release cycle.
  • Partners with 10 PMs and 50 engineers across two products, owning 5–10 features at any given time as one of four designers covering Magnite's full product portfolio.
2022 – 25
UX Designer
Magnite · Mountain View, CA
  • Drove a 114% increase in ad spend by leading end-to-end UX for DV+ Marketplace Deal Management — a net-new UI for curated marketplace creation, editing, and listing across 5 phases and 3 iteration cycles.
  • Designed the Demand Manager Wrapper Automation tool, resulting in a 4% revenue increase; led UX for a Blocklist Management app giving DV+ publishers granular control over advertiser, DSP, and content inclusions/exclusions.
  • Designed the Political Preview tool to unblock political ad revenue during the 2024 US election cycle, and the Live Events ad serving experience for Magnite Streaming (Olympics, cricket, boxing).
  • Co-owned Magnite's design system — built half of all custom Figma components and contributed directly to Storybook component code using AI-assisted development, reducing dev time by 20%.
2021 – 22
